About PAHS

The Patan Academy of Health Sciences is a public not-for-profit tertiary academic institution  dedicated to improving Nepal’s rural health by training health workers for rural Nepal.

PAHS is located in the city of Patan, Nepal, which is adjacent to the capital city of Kathmandu. PAHS is based at Patan Hospital, which is the major teaching hospital for the academy.

Problem

The medical institution had internal assessment system evaluation of which was decisive for the final grading of the student, the problem was difficult in evaluation of the students assessment by the associated preceptor in paper based form,as it was difficult for the students to submit the assessment to the preceptor in  a predefined time and for preceptor it was very inappropriate to meet each and every student and verify the assessment. 

Solution

Alignstech along with the PAHS management workout together to come up with a effective solution to develop a digital solution to the existing problem. We developed the online web application ASP which along with the below mentioned features helped a lot to keep the paper based assesement system in sync with the system.

• Mass assessment dispatch to students with deadline tracking  

• Tracking multiple assessment submission stages between preceptor and student

• Tracking the evaluation of the assessments by respective preceptor

• Module to manage all the paper based forms by  implementing custom form submission

• Mechanism for individual forms

• Auto notification alert system  to automatically alert student/preceptor  on the submission and deadline crossing

• Full fledge report system to track the status of the assessment

• Generated marking report for exam division based on the assessment submission

• Integrated MCQ  (Multiple choice questions)  and PBQ  (Paper based questions)  exams  to track student performance

• Digital library integrated for the students
